HEALDSBURG, CA (July 27, 2016) Saxophone greats Dave Koz and David Sanborn will perform “Side-By-Side” at the Rodney Strong Summer Concert Series on August 13.
The “Side-By-Side” tour is the first time Koz and Sanborn have co-headlined together and shared the stage.
“David Sanborn is my No. 1 sax idol. I prayed this would happen for many years!” says Koz. “I grew up listening to and worshipping this guy. He is the one who took the saxophone from more of a traditional jazz idiom and brought it into a more pop idiom. It’s an incredible honor to be performing side-by-side with him.”
“Dave and I have been talking for years of doing something like this, and now it’s finally happening,” says Sanborn. “We’ve come up with new and exciting takes on songs from each of our catalogs.”
In its 26th year, the Rodney Strong series includes five summer-time concerts, award-winning wines, and local food purveyors at the scenic Concert Green & Terrace setting at Rodney Strong Vineyards.
More concerts in the 2016 series include Huey Lewis and The News on August 21; and The
B-52s on September 17.
Surrounded by acres of beautiful vineyards, guests are treated to intimate, unforgettable concert experiences. Rodney Strong wines, non-alcoholic beverages and an array of delectable is available. Gates open at 4 p.m. Concerts begin at 5 p.m.
