HEALDSBURG, CA (July 10, 2018) Melissa Etheridge, one of rock music’s greatest female icons, performs at the Rodney Strong Summer Concert Series presented by Montgomery Village on July 22.
Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Etheridge has been one of America’s favorite singer-songwriters for more than two decades.
She stormed onto the American rock scene in 1988 with the release of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album.
Throughout her career, Etheridge has earned 15 Grammy Award nominations, winning two. In 2007, she celebrated a career milestone with a victory in the “Best Song” category at the Academy Awards for “I Need to Wake Up, written for the film, An Inconvenient Truth.
On June 20, 2016, Etheridge released a song called “Pulse.” The singer wrote the song in reaction to the mass shootings that took place in Orlando on June 12, 2016. Currently, Etheridge is on The Rock Tour through September and recently announced her 25th Anniversary Tour.
